The Eureka Moment—Why ZENIE Had to Happen
We started building ZEPIC in April 2023 when ChatGPT-4 was taking the world by storm with wild adoption. We had already envisioned and provisioned some great use cases..
In fact, right off the bat we integrated with ChatGPT to assign fun, random pseudo-names to anonymous visitors in ZEPIC—just a basic integration (but one that our investors absolutely loved! Let’s be honest, anything AI-related gets instant love :)
Our first focus was listening to real-world marketer problems. We met countless marketers who were painstakingly relying on designers and engineers to create and run their campaigns. You know the drill — design approvals, coding templates, back-and-forths... and before you know it, days (sometimes even weeks) have passed, and that "urgent" campaign hasn’t moved out from the “Drafts” folder yet.
We decided to fix this—and built DIY tools, drag-and-drop editors, and WYSIWYG editors to help marketers run campaigns without needing tech experts. It worked like a charm—marketers went from taking a campaign live in months to a few days. We were on cloud nine, thinking, "Yes! Problem solved!" Or so we thought...
Enter—a big D2C customer. We were super pumped to showcase ZEPIC in action. Easy right? I mean, we built the platform! But guess what? Even for us, it took an entire afternoon to set everything up. We spent a lot of time in bringing in eCommerce data with all the original data properties, setting up journeys, aligning fields to personalize, and eventually creating an impactful campaign.
